Stock Ledger is a pharmacy inventory management app built for a single pharmacy's own use. This page explains what information the app handles, where it's stored, and the choices you have. In short: your data stays on your device and, only if you turn on backup, in your own Google Drive — it is never sent to us or sold to anyone.
01Information we collect
Everything in Stock Ledger is information you type in yourself while running your pharmacy. The app does not collect anything automatically or in the background.
| Feature | What you enter |
|---|---|
| Inventory | Drug name, batch number, category, quantity, buying/selling price, expiry date, description |
| Sales | Which drug, quantity, price, date and time of sale |
| Patient appointments | Patient name, phone number, service, appointment date, follow-up date |
| Expenses | Rent, miscellaneous costs, drug order amounts and supplier names |
| Account (optional) | Recovery email / linked Google account, app login password |
We don't collect device identifiers, location, browsing activity, or any analytics about how you use the app.
02Where your data lives
By default, everything you enter is stored only on your device, in the app's private local storage. It is not transmitted anywhere unless you explicitly choose to back it up.
You can also create manual backup files saved to your device's storage (SD card / internal storage), which you control entirely — sharing, deleting, or moving them is up to you.
03Google Drive backup
If you choose to link a Google account, Stock Ledger can back up and sync your data to a folder it creates in your own Google Drive. This is entirely optional.
The app requests the drive.file permission scope, which means:
- It can only see and edit files it created itself (a folder named StockLedgerBackups).
- It cannot browse, read, or modify any other file in your Google Drive.
- Your Google name and email are used only to show you which account is linked — we don't store them on any server, because we don't run one.
04Notifications
Expiry reminders and appointment reminders are scheduled locally on your device using your operating system's notification system. No notification content is sent to any external server to generate these reminders.
06Patient information
The appointments feature lets you record a patient's name and phone number. This information is entered and controlled entirely by you, the pharmacy operator, and is stored the same way as your other app data (locally, and optionally in your own Google Drive backup).
As the operator, you are responsible for handling patient information in line with any local health-data or data-protection regulations that apply to your pharmacy.
07Security
You can enable an in-app login (password) under Settings → Security to restrict access to the app on a shared device. Google Drive sync, when enabled, uses Google's standard OAuth sign-in — Stock Ledger never sees or stores your Google password.
08Your choices
- Delete individual records — every entry (drug, sale, appointment, expense, backup) can be deleted from within the app, with a confirmation step first.
- Reset all data — Settings → Data → Data Reset lets you clear inventory, sales, or everything at once.
- Unlink Google Drive — disconnect your account at any time from Settings or the Backup screen; this does not delete files already saved in your Drive, which remain under your control there.
- Uninstall — removing the app deletes all locally stored data from your device.
09Children's privacy
Stock Ledger is a professional tool for pharmacy staff and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
